Life Groups
Smaller groups have incredible potential to change lives. Jesus had a group of 12 in his small group, but there were 3 that he spent the most time with, Peter, James, and John. Matthew 18:20 Jesus said, “For where to or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
Smaller groups of 2-4 can be powerful. They provide the connection and also the safety to share life’s joys and sorrows. We have many life groups running at Cornerstone and are always looking for ways to partner with you to start a new group.
At Cornerstone, we call these small groups Life Groups because we believe these small groups are the best way to experience life together as a church. Life Groups consist of 4 to 20 people gathering in someone’s home or a room in our church buildings, either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, to share food, create friendships, study the Bible, and pray.

How Can I Start a Life Group?
Helpful tips for starting a life group:
- Invite 2 or 3 individuals or couples to join your Life Group.
- Select a Bible reading plan, and share your insights and questions. We’ll help you find one.
- No secondary sharing. Sharing about your life, not someone else’s.
- Maintain confidentiality. What happens in your Life Group stays in the group.
- Pray with and for each other.
Helpful tips to take your Life Group to the next level:
- Plan and execute one community service project this quarter.
- Pray for someone by name to come to know Christ.
- Have your group host an event you would feel comfortable inviting your friend to and then invite them to attend.
Three questions to ask in your Life Group:
- What is going well?
- Where are you struggling?
- How can we pray?
